UPWA is the Finalist of the River Stewardship Program

Earlier this year UPWA submitted a proposal to do instream restoration work at Dalton Fishing Are. The project location was selected because the Dalton Fishing Area is an extremely popular location for public recreation. The proposed project will be designed to reduce temperature and sediment in the river by addressing deficiencies in geomorphology and riparian habitat.

The Dalton Fishing Area is a very popular, well-known public recreation area that has very high visibility and very high user impacts. UPWA strongly believes the proposed project would be highly beneficial to the river and the public. We look forward to working with New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) to design and implement the Dalton Fishing Area Restoration Project. Thank you to all our donors who continue to share our vision and mission. Your contribution directly impacts our ability to continue restoration work in our watershed.
