The Truchas Chapter of Trout Unlimited is pleased to present “Casting for the Future,” a special event dedicated to conservation, community, and the future of cold-water fisheries. The event, set for April 10 2025 at La Fonda’s La Terraza & Patio Garden, will feature a keynote address by Trout Unlimited CEO Chris Wood, a leading voice in national conservation efforts and cold-water fisheries protection.
Chris Wood has been a tireless advocate for clean water, healthy rivers, and sustainable fisheries for over two decades. As the leader of Trout Unlimited, he has played a pivotal role in policy and restoration initiatives aimed at safeguarding America’s trout and salmon populations. His keynote will highlight the urgent need for conservation, the successes of Trout Unlimited’s work in New Mexico and nationally, and the path forward in protecting our watersheds for future generations.
“We are honored to have Chris Wood join us for this event,” said Jeff Weber, President at Truchas Chapter TU. “His leadership and insights continue to inspire anglers and conservationists nationwide. This is a rare opportunity to hear directly from one of the most influential voices in fisheries conservation.”
In addition to Wood’s address, the event will bring together New Mexico conservation leaders, local advocates, and Trout Unlimited members to discuss ongoing projects, policy initiatives, and the collective efforts to restore and protect New Mexico’s vital trout habitats.
