Join Trout Unlimited New Mexico and the U.S. Forest Service for two days of conservation work to finish much-needed projects before fall.
Volunteer days are September 13, 14, and 20, from 9am-1pm each day. Join for one, two, or all three days! We will work on projects including a water line repair, ditch filling, fence repair, trash clean up, and more. Expect a fun half day of work each day! Gloves and other equipment will be provided, along with snacks and lunch on the 13th and 14th and we will have a celebratory Jemez cookout on 20th!

Location for September 13 and 14: Volunteers will meet at 9am at the intersection of FR 126 and 144 between San Antonio Campground and Fenton Lake. The turn out is about 4 miles west of San Antonio Campground on 126 and about 4 miles east of Fenton Lake on 126. 144 is a moderate dirt road – 4wd is recommended, but we will have carpool available from the meet up point.

Location for September 20: Volunteers will meet at 9am at the parking area near the confluence of the Rio de Las Vacas and Rio Cebolla on FR 376, about 7 miles north of Gilman Tunnels along FR 376. FR 376 is a moderate dirt road that most vehicles should be able to handle.

What to wear: Work clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, hats, and closed toed shoes. Gloves and all other equipment will be provided.
What to bring: Water, sunscreen, and a rod if you want to fish afterward 🙂
What to expect: A cookout after a half day of good work! Please be prepared for manual labor, including shoveling. Take as many breaks as you need!
