Help Preserve the Fish Populations of Valles Caldera!

We’re seeking enthusiastic volunteers to support critical fish monitoring surveys at the Valles Caldera National Preserve. After our initial survey, it’s clear that additional hands are needed! Volunteer alongside biology technicians and Valles Caldera staff in this unique opportunity to learn about fish populations, their habitats, and explore the stunning landscapes of the preserve.

Urgent Dates Needing Volunteers:

  • June 4: Lower East Fork @ Hidden Valley
  • June 9: Lower San Antonio @ Western Boundary
  • June 10: Lower Jaramillo @ Valley Grande

Other survey dates available between June 5-12.

Tasks Include:

  • Assisting with electroshocking
  • Carrying equipment and setting up nets
  • Data recording and fish measurements
