Join Us for the Annual Truchas Chapter Picnic!
Get ready for a day of fun, food, and community! The Truchas Chapter of Trout Unlimited invites you to its annual picnic for all members, their families, and friends. It’s a great opportunity to connect with fellow anglers, learn new skills, and enjoy some delicious food.

When: Saturday, September 6th, 2025
Time: 12:00pm to 4:00pm
Where: Ft. Marcy Park Magers Field, 490 Bishop’s Lodge Road, Santa Fe, NM 87501
This year, we’re excited to have What the Truck catering again! The menu includes BBQ pork, BBQ chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, brownies, cookies and beverages.

Activities & Raffle
Your ticket includes one entry into our raffle, with additional tickets available for purchase on-site for $5 each. You must be present to win one of these fantastic prizes:
- A day of fishing on the river hosted by a Truchas director
- Orvis Turbine IV Reel with extra spool
- Truchas hat and Truchas fishing shirt
- Box of professionally tied flies
- Truchas Rio Grande Trout license plate
- Trout Unlimited Yeti insulated coffee mug
We’ve also planned a full schedule of engaging activities for everyone:
- 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM: Visit tables hosted by Truchas, the New Mexico Lady Anglers, Trout Unlimited National, and our Kids Table!
- 12:30 PM: Watch a fly-casting demonstration.
- 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM: Get hands-on with fly casting games and practice, with prizes for the best beginner and experienced casters!
- 1:00 PM – 1:30 PM: Learn from a fly-tying demonstration.
- 1:30 PM – 2:00 PM: Try your hand at tying your own flies with guidance for novices and prizes for the best tied fly.
- 2:00 PM: Lunch is served!
- 3:00 PM: The raffle begins.
