Are you a passionate fly-caster looking to share your skills with fellow anglers? The Truchas Chapter of Trout Unlimited is creating a team of Truchas Casting Instructors to help local members become better casters and anglers. We want to empower our community by offering fly-casting clinics, and it all starts with you.
We’re looking for dedicated casters who are excited about teaching others. Our instructor training will cover a specific set of casting and teaching skills over four Saturday morning sessions, tentatively starting in October. We’ll meet on the grass at Fort Marcy Park to practice and perfect our techniques.
To be a good fit for this program, you should have intermediate or better casting skills. This means you’re comfortable false casting 30 feet of line with straight and parallel legs. More importantly, we’re looking for people who are committed to being part of the Truchas casting program on an ongoing basis.
If you’re interested in becoming an instructor or just want to learn more, please reach out to our Casting Director, Eric Callow. You can also find Eric at the Chapter Picnic on Saturday, September 6th. He’ll be there to answer your questions and even introduce a fun casting game for everyone to enjoy!
Ready to help build a stronger, more skilled community of anglers? We can’t wait to hear from you.
