2024 Truchas Scholarship Awarded

Truchas chapter of Trout Unlimited has awarded its inaugural Truchas STEM scholarship to senior Fabian Larranaga of Monte del Sol charter school, located in Santa Fe.  The letter granting the one-time amount of $2600, to be used for qualified secondary education expenses, was presented to Fabian on March 11 at an all school assembly, by Mike Jozwiakowski and John Hanasack of the Truchas board of directors.

Fabian plans to attend a university in New Mexico and study electrical engineering, and is interested in alternative energy sources that can reduce climate change. A reduction in global warming would provide long-term benefits to cold water fisheries in NM and other national trout habitats. In addition to his strong academic record (GPA 3.90), Fabian is an avid outdoorsman and is active in various community and ranch activities.

We wish him well in his future career!
