Bid for Conservation: Truchas Chapter Annual Fundraising Auction Opens February 21

The Truchas Chapter of Trout Unlimited’s Annual Fundraising Auction opens February 21, 2026 at 9:00 am MST and runs through March 8, 2026 at 6:00 pm MST. This is one of our most important fundraisers of the year — and your chance to directly support conservation across northern New Mexico.

This year’s auction features five guided fly fishing trips with some of New Mexico’s finest outfitters, premium fly fishing gear, and a custom-made bamboo fly rod. Whether you’re looking to explore new water, upgrade your setup, or own a handcrafted piece of angling craftsmanship, there is something worth casting a bid for.

More importantly, every dollar raised powers local, volunteer-driven conservation work.

Funds from the auction support our efforts to protect and restore native Rio Grande Cutthroat Trout, improve watershed health through habitat restoration and stream cleanups, and advance science-based conservation advocacy. Auction proceeds also sustain our youth education programs, including Trout in the Classroom grants, River Source watershed resilience projects, Indigenous and Hispanic Youth Fishing Camps, and our $2,500 annual STEM Scholarship for a graduating New Mexico senior pursuing studies in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.

Nearly 400 Truchas Chapter members — backed by a national Trout Unlimited network more than 300,000 strong — are working to ensure that wild, cold-water fisheries thrive for future generations. All of our work is carried out entirely by volunteers, and your participation in this auction directly fuels that impact.

Mark your calendar. Browse the items. Bid early and bid often.

Together, we can protect northern New Mexico’s rivers and keep Rio Grande Cutthroat on the landscape where they belong.
