Meet Your Board Member — Brian Burrell

Brian Burrell is the Truchas Chapter Treasurer and a resident of Santa Fe, NM, since 2012. Growing up in Milwaukee, WI, he started fishing for bass and walleye on Wisconsin lakes (trivia fact: Wisconsin has more lakes than its neighbor to the west but just had more to brag about than 10,000 lakes).

He started his career as a business journalist in Ethiopia (trivia fact 2: ask for trout fishing spots in the Ethiopian mountains… there are some great ones). After earning an MBA in Madison, WI, Brian joined Thornburg Investment Management and is now a Portfolio Manager on the Better World International equity mutual fund.

Brian loves chasing trout in New Mexico’s high mountain creeks or on the Rio up by Creede, CO, where you can find him most of the summertime—though his wife, Kaitlyn, usually out-fishes him.
